Na de kwalificatie werd het duidelijk dat Buemi (Renault e.dams), Rosenqvist, Da Costa, Turvey (NIO) en Lynn de superpole mochten rijden. Felix Rosenqvist (Mahindra) bewees zichzelf tijdens de superpole en start straks op P1 in Mexico City. Een goede zaak voor de Zweed, die momenteel tweede staat in de strijd om de titel, na Techeetahs Jean-Eric Vergne. Plaatsen twee en drie zijn voor Da Costa (Andretti) en Lynn (DS Virgin). Race om 23u00!
